Resources
Welcome to the City of LeRoy . Life here is enhanced by the preservation of our local history and the enjoyment of today. Our community combines agriculture, industry, history, civic activities, recreation and countless other events for a wholesome and fulfilled lifestyle, making it an ideal place to raise a family and grow your business.
The following information should help ease the transition of moving into the area for new residents.
Professional Services
Medical services can be obtained through Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Austin. There is also a Chiropractor in the community. Attorneys come into the community a day each week to serve clients here.
There is also a Community Education program for both children and adults. Community Ed offers preschool classes, adult classes and seminars, and summer athletic programs.
Recreation
LeRoy is located next to Lake Louise State Park, on the Upper Iowa River. Beautiful Lake Louise has swimming, fishing and non-motorized boating and canoeing. There are camping areas with all facilities, picnic areas, walking and biking trails, horse trails, snowmobile trails, and wildlife.
The Shooting Star Recreation Trail goes right from LeRoy through the State Park to Taopi, continuing on to Adams and Rose Creek. Eventually bicyclists will be able to pedal from LeRoy to the Hormel Nature Center in Austin.
LeRoy has two city parks. Baumbach (North) Park has tennis courts, basketball court, a picnic shelter, restrooms, and playground equipment. South Park has a picnic shelter, rest rooms, and playground equipment. Both parks also have ball diamonds. School facilities are used for baseball, softball, and volleyball.
There is a Rod & Gun Club on the east edge of LeRoy with trap shooting facilities and a trout pond. Wildlife is abundant around LeRoy for the hunting enthusiast.
Our Schools
A high percentage of LeRoy-Ostrander graduates go on to higher learning and do well in college. Excellent scholarship programs are available for these students.
The school is well-known in this area for its sports teams. The Cardinals have been to the state finals in nine-man football, and the girls volleyball teams have also done well. They also have programs for boys and girls basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball, track, cross country, and golf.
LeRoy's fast-pitch softball team was National Champions in 1994. Many members of the FFA Chapter place annually in district, state and national contests. There is also an active FCCLA, and National Honor Society organization.

Housing
Where will you live when you decide to come to LeRoy?
There are several realtors in the LeRoy area, and homes available of all sizes and price ranges. Many young families are moving to LeRoy, either building new or purchasing homes from Senior Citizens who are "down-sizing."
There is an established new housing development and a new subdivision along the Upper Iowa River on the west edge of the city. These lots are more reasonably priced than those in larger surrounding communities.
LeRoy has a mobile home court with spaces available at a reasonable rent. Contact 507-932-3593 for more information.
There are other building lots available in other areas of the community, two Senior Apartment complexes, Senior Housing facility, and several apartments which at times have vacancies.
There are many residents living here who work in Rochester, Austin or surrounding communities... but LeRoy is not a bedroom town. It has much more to offer than lower-priced living!
Churches
LeRoy has five very active churches. In fact, you are kept busy going to the various church dinners, bazaars, bake sales, and craft shows.
They are St. Patrick's Catholic, First Presbyterian, Evangelical Lutheran, Grace Christian, and Bethany Bible. (click here for more information on all churches)
Community Center
LeRoy has a Community Center where events can be held. LeRoy's Theatre group sponsors an old-time "Radio Show" in the Fall, and also stages plays during the year.
At Christmas there is a "Cookie Walk" at the L-O School; this event coincides with the craft show and soup luncheon.
Senior Center
The Community Center also is home to the LeRoy Senior Citizens. The Senior Citizens host a weekly community dinner on Tuesday of each week. These dinners are open to the public and are usually followed by a few games of bingo or some type of musical entertainment. The nominal fee of $6.00 for the meal plus the entertainment or bingo is a real deal and a great place to meet your neighbors for food and fellowship.
Organizations
LeRoy has many other organizations. They include the American Legion, Legion Auxiliary, Son's of the American Legion, History Club, Garden Club, Town and Country Card Club, Rod and Gun Club, 4-H, Youth Church groups, and others.
